They’re eagerly awaiting new disasters and lots of bullshit. I stopped watching the news after reading The Four Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris but in his new book, I read something extremely interesting. In Tools Of Titans (this is a great book, both of them are, to be honest) there’s one guy who worked at a newspaper and he gives you a solid reason why you shouldn’t watch or read the news. He told Tim Ferris that they had to pick the worst imaginable news and only that would be printed. So the news is a big scam. It’s a big “reality show”. So basically it’s fake and full of sensation. Most people will wear 10 sweaters and tons of jackets when it’s freezing but the cold warrior dresses pretty light. He does that to prevent sickness. Wait? What? That’s right you become less sick when you’re able to handle the cold. Warning: you’ll have to step out of your comfort zone to do it. It’s not easy I can guarantee you that.

Today I tried something new. It was -3 °C outside (26.6F) and I wanted to train with my heavy bag. I went outside in shorts, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. I ditched the sweater after 30 minutes and the t-shirt after 45 minutes. Towards the end, I even trained barefoot. I decided to do meditation for a second time today. Most guys can bench heavy but can’t perform a single pistol squat or muscle-up. Learn to master the muscle up and become happy like a little kid.

I will never remember when I saw my first muscle-up.  I was training together with a buddy from college who was pretty strong but was more a calisthenics guy. Suddenly he challenged me to do a human flag and a muscle-up just for fun. So I tried both and I managed to a face plant on both exercises. My chin hit the bar pretty good when did my first attempt. The title is a bit confusing isn’t it? I do MMA like most of you know or don’t know. This is the greatest sport there is in my opinion. It’s the purest sport there is since there are only 2 options: you either win or learn. Well only if you’ve got the right mindset. This sport isn’t for everybody that’s for sure. But martial arts are more than MMA on its own. I did 5 years karate back in the days and I learned a lot from that sport.
