Dream killers are egocentric people without realizing it

Are you part of a group of dream killers? People kill dreams because they have something to lose. It can be their dignity or a person. Sad isn't it?

Are you part of a group of dream killers? People kill dreams because they have something to lose. It can be their dignity or a person. Maybe they just realize that they should have worked harder and that their impossible dream wasn’t so impossible after all. I all realized this after an older woman approached me at the bus station.

She approached me with some small talk but kept on talking and talking. I guess she was a bit lonely so I gently listened and replied to keep the interaction going. I could label it as lost time for reading but I gave me this blog post so what’s bad about that? That’s the art of turning bad things into a good thing. Life is full of little presents and you just have to see them. Some people could call me lucky but it’s more than that. It’s almost like the luck is attracted to me.

Dream killers are egocentric

Her daughter was married to another woman and they were on a trip to the United States. They were gone for a long time and the woman was missing her daughter and her daughter in law. The daughter in law was working for an American company.

One day she got an offer to work and live in the United States. An offer which included a big paycheck and a house with a pool. Sounds like a pretty nice offer doesn’t it. The sad thing is that the couple didn’t move permanently to The States. They never even tried it since the daughter in law declined the offer. But the reason why will shock you since this was her all-time dream that came true.

I’m not kidding you

Yes, you read it correctly she gave up her life dream and is probably regretting it right now.  The mother in law didn’t want that her daughter took the trip. She didn’t want to see her daughter move to another country. The woman herself was afraid of flying, heights and so on. She claimed that she just wanted to be at home and didn’t want to leave it for a very long time. She was extremely afraid to leave her comfort zone. She didn’t want to be confronted with the unknown. She called her daughter twice a day as long as she stayed in The States.

This is parenting gone wrong. Well, at least that’s my opinion. That mother was smothering her kid and I’m glad that this didn’t affect the relationship well at least not yet.

She learned a lesson herself

Mothers in law am I right. I can’t complain about my previous mothers in law, to be honest. I guess this joke never runs old. Mothers always want their kids to be safe but in this way, they’re killing dreams and development.

But now comes the beautiful part of the story well beautiful and sad at the same time. I asked a ton of questions about it and suddenly she admitted that she regretted that she had killed these dreams. She told me that it was purely out of self-interest and that she had been selfish.

It was crazy how long she talked about the fact that she regretted this decision. Oh yeah, two busses never came due to engine troubles so I was waiting for an hour in total. That’s the reason why the conversation was so long.

She told me that she would never do the same thing if they would get a new offer. But now the question arises if they’ll ever get a new offer. It would be pretty sad if she didn’t get a new offer because the older would die with regret.

Don’t listen to the dream killers

You’ll always have dream killers in your life. They pop up at go away and mostly these people never come back. You can deal better with them when you get why they do it. They’ll get frustrated and give up because they’ll never get why you can deal with it.

You have to realize that they will give up or you’ll give up. This should never be a choice. Pick your dream and got get it. Fuck the dream killers and the naysayers. You should feel sorry for them since they’re full of hate and unrealized dreams. Just never say sorry because it’s an overvalued word.

A real winner dusts himself and moves on. It takes courage but this is what separates the winners from the losers. Most dream killers don’t want you to succeed because it’s pretty confronting that you achieved something. They couldn’t achieve your dreams so they don’t want you to succeed. They’re putting you in a comfort zone.

Dream killers have a fucked up logic

People who drop out of college will have to face some hard times because society doesn’t like this. Strangely, society allows you to study for years but working for one minute on your dream is something that will give you tons of hate. They never hate you even if you’re not studying well because, in the end, you’ll have a piece of paper with some ink on it.

This is a recipe for disaster since it puts you asleep, you get satisfied till you reach your death bed. You forget about all your childhood dreams and live without a purpose. You’ve become a part of the herd and aren’t a part of the wolf pack. Can you guess which one will get the most out of life?

They just don’t get it

I was three months unemployed before I got my first job. But it was a strategic choice. I worked my ass off for the blog and worked out. I woke up determined and got to bed satisfied. Well, I still do but that doesn’t matter now.

After the first two weeks, a buddy of mine advised me to go to work somewhere. The place didn’t matter I just had to find a job according to him. I became curious and asked him why. Now read and reread the reason a couple of times because the reason doesn’t make any sense. The reason had jack shit to do with me.

He said, “because I would be bored if I was home all day”. Do you see what happened here? He fell like he had too much time in a day and you noticed it when you were going away with him  He just wandered through life and weekends without a goal. I don’t get that people are bored in this day and age.

That’s also the guy who hoped that I would lose my first MMA fight. Yeah, it was never the same after he told me that. It motivated me but  I started avoiding him a bit. I didn’t need this kind of negativity in my life. Did I ever tell you that people get dumb and dumber after the age of 23?

IF by Rudyard Kipling

This is a poem that I heard for the first time on YouTube. The voice and message just a tremendous influence on me. This poem is the greatest that I’ve ever read. I’m even going to use three sentences from the poem in my sleeve tattoo (they’re the bold sentences). These sentences describe me. Happy reading. Fun fact: my ex didn’t want that I took a tattoo. So we can conclude that I gave something up for her and it didn’t end well. I’ll never make this mistake again. Have you ever met, dream killers? What’s your opinion on them? Or are you part of the dream killers yourself? I hope that this blog opened your eyes. Dream killers are the most egocentric people on the planet.

If

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;

If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

    And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings

And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except for the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,

If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,

And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
