A lot of people ask what I eat. So I tell them that I eat healthy. They just don’t get what I mean with eating healthy . Weird isn’t it? I mostly get a shit- ton of question after that. Stuff like: do you eat this, this and that. I’m pretty sure that people would pay for what I’m going to share in this blog post. I’m basically going to share how and what I eat. Now I’m not a nutritionist and I’m going to share what works for me. I might work for you as well since I know multiple people who took the same approach. They all live a healthy and happy lifestyle (read here what I mean). Now you’ve got two options: you either read the whole article or skip it to the end to see what I eat. It’s all up to you.
The western diet caused an epidemic but can you guess which one? It caused obesity because people have no clue how they should eat these days. The fitness industry didn’t make it any better since they promote tons of different diets. I have no clue how many diets there are but there are a lot. But what made the Western diet so bad? Well it’s the fear of fat. Well not the fear of fat but the whole low fat bullshit hype. People buy low fat crap and assume that they’re eating healthy but they’re actually buying products full of sugar and chemicals. All those products don’t taste that great but they sell extremely well.
Do you like to eat a pancake from time to time? Well you’re not the only one but pancakes contain a lot of sugar. Well at least the ones that you buy in the supermarket. The ones that you’re making yourself are healthier but still not that healthy. Most flour contains gluten and there are more and more people who’re intolerant to gluten (this includes me). So you could use sorghum flour or coconut flour but I’ve got a better and tastier alternativee. I found this pancake recipe years ago and I experimented with it ever since. Note that I don’t add protein powder to the recipe but you’re free to do it (read my supplement guide before you buy some). The recipe is tasteful on it’s own. It’s delicious, easy to make and addictive. Are you ready to go bananas?
I was about 19 when I was introduced to real bodybuilding. The doctor told me that I was able to train again after I suffered from a knee injury that lasted about 2 years. So I stopped playing soccer and decided to join a gym to get a bit bigger. I was fairly small at the time and weighed about 62 kg (136 pounds). But there was a point where I weighed about 58 kg (127 pounds). I walk around at 71 kg (156 lbs) and about 9% body fat at the moment.
I just followed some training routines from magazines back in the day and didn’t really count calories. O ne year later I met a personal trainer and that’s when everything changed. The results were nice but they could be better.I didn’t get why you should walk around fat for most of the time so I went my own way.
A lot of people will claim that they’re a stress eater these days. Most people have trouble dealing with stress so they eat to feel better. Stress eating is the worst thing that you could do when it comes to your overall health but also to your physique. Most people who’re eating due to stress are out of shape. This is the sad reality and you need to accept that stress eating will make sure that you’ll never get into shape. Stress eating becomes a habit after a while, you might assume that all those cookies don’t matter but they do. You’ll hit 1000 extra calories in a day before you even realize it. I’ll give you a complete explanation on why you should stop being a stress eater.
I recently started a sleep experiment and the findings may shock you. They shocked me big time to be honest. I started this experiment after I talked about sleep and recovery with Luke from sweetmachinefitness. He told me that he felt at his best when he slept for 7 hours. He trains a lot so I got did some research on why this was even possible. I didn’t make any sense to me that he would feel better than when he slept 8 hours. I thought that more sleep would equal more energy (if you stay in the 7 to 9 hour range off course). So I stayed up an hour later then usual (11:30 pm) and got up at the same time (6:30 am).
Are you ready to become a cold warrior? Do you even know what a cold warrior is? A cold warrior is somebody who’s able to handle the cold better than most people. Most people will wear 10 sweaters and tons of jackets when it’s freezing but the cold warrior dresses pretty light. He does that to prevent sickness. Wait? What? That’s right you become less sick when you’re able to handle the cold. Warning: you’ll have to step out of your comfort zone to do it. It’s not easy I can guarantee you that.
Today I really tried something new. It was -3 °C outside (26.6F) and I wanted to train with my heavy bag. I went outside in shorts, a t shirt and a hoodie. I ditched the sweater after 30 minutes and the t shirt after 45 minutes. Towards the end I even trained barefoot. I decided to do meditation for a second time today. So I did it shirtless in the cold for 10 minutes and I was okay.
The muscle up has to be learned for 2 simple reasons. It’s a bas ass move and you’ll be pretty strong when you’re able to master this one. It’s a natty delusion that you need to bench a ton of weight. Most guys can bench heavy but can’t perform a single pistol squat or muscle up. Learn to master the muscle up and become happy like a little kid.
I will never remember when I saw my first muscle up. I was training together with a buddy from college whom was pretty strong but was more a calisthenics guy. Suddenly he challenged me to do a human flag and a muscle up just for fun. So I tried both and I managed to a face plant on both exercises. My chin hit the bar pretty good when did my first attempt. I was lucky that I didn’t have a big ego so I just moved on.
The supplement industry is one of the biggest in the world. You can take supplements almost every day. Pre, post and during a workout you have to sip this. In the morning and evening you have to pop that pill. You have to take it exact 30 minutes prior to your workout or prior to bed and in this way people lose their senses and money thanks to the supplement industry. They also promise thing that aren’t possible when you’re natural. They do adds with guys who put roids in their oatmeal and HGH in their coffee, they all claim that their gains are due to these supplements but we all know that this is a big pile of bullshit.
Are you ready to dive in the busy people workout routine? This is one of my favorite routines when I’m really short in time or feel less like working out. There are tons of people who skip the gym regularly because they have no time to work out. Well they all claim to have no time but they always find the time to watch a movie or a television show. Most of them eat some unhealthy food while they’re doing this and you know what’s the most funny about it?
